Gaeilge has always flourished in our school.. There has always been great emphasis on Drámaíocht in the school. The school has taken part in many drama competitions over the years especially in Féile Cill Chainnigh with many prizes being won in Comhrá, Agallamh Beirte, Athriseoireacht, Amhránaíocht Aonair agus Grúpa.

 When the annual Féile Cill Chainnigh competitions came to an end we decided to continue with our own format during our annual Seachtain na Gaeilge.

Each year, during ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ the children from 3rd to 6th class are interviewed ‘as Gaeilge’ by Mr. Mulrooney.  All classes from Junior Infants to 6th perform with dánta, amhráin and drámaí beaga in the school hall in front of the whole school.

There is also the very popular Poc Fada and Cic Fada competitions for boys and girls in all classes.

It is a very natural sight in our school to see the children going from class to class week in, week out performing ‘as Gaeilge’.
